The
Nix Family Mural...is a story about the Nix Family Ranch,
their heavenly view of the Sange De Cristo mountains of
Santa Fe, New Mexico for over 50 years. This mural captures
the view from the late Ruth Nix's kitchen window - where
she sat disabled for her last twelve years. She looked
past an amazing collection of antique horse and ranch
memorabilia through the arches every day.

The
white pegasus - her favorite - is a symbol of the ever-constant
connection between us and those in heaven. The rainbow
is the family's stairway to her, as told in a touching
poem written by her daughter Tosha, and was included in
Ruth's standing-room only memorial and funeral.
The
ever steadfast rearing stallion, Noble (the last of the
family's prized racehorses, who died two years ago,) represents
the enduring patriarch of the family, Robert Gene Nix.
I
am proud and fortunate to say that I have lived on this
ranch for the last three years and have been welcomed
into this all-embracing family like no other...and all
who know the Nix's, fondly call this place "Contentment
Acres" for the reactions of their kind treatment
of all who come here, horses and people alike.
